This area on the Badlands loop is called Green Mounds, as there are strikingly green areas of earth that are exposed through the eroded landscape: very intriguing!
This is the first painting of the day that I painted on site at Badlands National Park.
I waited until the sun was just peeking up over the horizon, and entered the Badlands.
