Evansville Rock Formation, 12 x 12″ Oil on Canvas

Evansville, WY is located to the east of Casper.  I had the good fortune to meet two local artists who were also participating in the plein air event in Wyoming.  Together, we painted at this site, and another that day: a very nice introduction to that area of Wyoming!  Looking like a sawed off trunk of a tree, this rocky outcropping is a characteristic landmark in the area.

Painted for the Prairies to Peaks Plein Air event August 1 – 13, 2011.  This painting is on display at Deselms Fine Art Gallery in Cheyenne, WY through Sept. 30th.
