Running Wild
24 x 36” Oil on Panel
The shelter of a tipi is a symbol from the past, reminiscent of a nomadic way of life. A life in which mankind lived off of the land and in harmony with nature.
Using juxtaposed imagery on the inside of a tipi, I have rendered horses living in the wild. Their nomadic lifestyle of freedom and living off of the land inspires the same romantic ideal of living in peace and harmony. A time gone by, yet longed for innately.
Red… a power color and one I am increasingly drawn to! Painting with red…
What do you long for innately? For me, it is art. I am happiest when I am doing my artwork, and secondary is showing it… it is mostly about the DOING it!
This original painting along with many artworks I have created will be on display at the newly opened Rim Rock Lodge Gallery in Spearfish Canyon from June 30 – 22.
