18” x 36” Watercolor on Ampersand Claybord

Spearfish Canyon is located in the Black Hills of South near where I live. A short drive away and I can retreat into quiet reflection and embrace nature. Therefore, Spearfish Canyon is naturally a subject matter of many of my paintings, often rendered en plein aire, on site. My watercolors on claybord are painted in layers of color and varnished in a permanent watercolor varnish, allowing them to not require glass. Framed in a mahogany-finished frame, this vertical painting measures 21.5”(W) x 39.5”(H) x 1.25”(D).
