This painting is an oil on canvas, imabe measuring 16 x 20 and beutifully framed with a burl walnut finish wood frame. The converging lines of lodge poles within a teepee structure inspired this painting. Modern day re-enactments of early Native American and trapper trader rendezvous provided me opportunity to observe and render this canvas teepee. A Rendezvous of the past was a coming together of cultures to barter for goods and to commune. Early American culture was witness to many rendezvous in which cultures peacefully coexisted, and returned year after year for the same.
